MDPLAYER includes FFmpeg, distributed under the LGPL version 2.1 or later licence.
To decode audio tracks many devices cannot play on their own: Dolby Digital (AC3), Dolby Digital Plus (E-AC3), Dolby TrueHD and DTS. Without it, on those devices you get picture but no sound at all.
We build unmodified FFmpeg 6.0, exactly as the project publishes it. The source is the official download:
ffmpeg.org/releases/ffmpeg-6.0.tar.bz2
The full licence is at gnu.org, and the project at ffmpeg.org.
It is built only for arm64-v8a and armeabi-v7a, without GPL support, and enabling only these audio decoders:
--disable-everything --disable-gpl --disable-nonfree
--disable-avformat --disable-avfilter --disable-swscale
--disable-avdevice --disable-postproc --enable-swresample
--enable-decoder=ac3 --enable-decoder=eac3
--enable-decoder=dca --enable-decoder=mlp --enable-decoder=truehd
FFmpeg lives in a separate library, libffmpegJNI.so, dynamically linked. Anyone can build their own version with the options above and replace it inside the APK without touching anything else in the application.
If you need the full build script or any detail of the process, write to us and we will send it: mdgroupdeveloper@gmail.com.
Everything else —MDPLAYER's code, design and brand— is the property of MDGROUP and is not distributed under this licence. See the terms of use.
