Frequently asked questions

If you cannot find what you are looking for, write to us from Contact.

Does MDPLAYER include channels or films?
No. MDPLAYER is only a player, the same way a video player on your computer is. It does not include, host or distribute any content. It works with the playlist you provide, and that playlist comes from a third party we have no relationship with.
How much does it cost?
The first 15 days are free, with no card required. After that, the licence for each TV costs $5 a month or $12.99 a year. You are paying for the application, not the content: whatever you pay for your playlist is a separate matter between you and whoever provides it. See pricing.
Why can I not pay from the TV?
Because app stores do not allow charging inside the app with your own payment methods, and because typing a card number with a remote would be miserable. Payment happens here, from your phone or computer, and the TV unlocks by itself.
I paid and my TV is still locked
Give it a minute: the TV checks its licence every minute and unlocks without you touching anything. If it stays locked, check that you paid with the right MAC (it appears under Activate) and write to us at mdgroupdeveloper@gmail.com.
Am I charged automatically every month?
No. We do not store your card and we do not make recurring charges. When your licence is about to expire, you come back here and renew it if you want to carry on.
I bought before the trial ran out. Do I lose the days I had left?
No. The time you buy is added to whatever you have left, whether that is trial or an active licence. Paying early never costs you days.
Does one licence cover several TVs?
No, it is per device. Each TV has its own MAC and its own licence. If you have two, they are activated separately.
What happens if your server goes down?
Your TV keeps working. It stores the last valid licence it saw and holds out 7 days without reaching us, precisely so that a problem on our side does not leave you without service.
Why can I not type my playlist on the TV?
Because typing an address and a password with a remote is slow and error-prone. You do it from your phone, which has a real keyboard, and the TV picks it up by itself.
My TV says it cannot connect. What should I check?
First, the TV's date and time. Many cheap TV players start up with the factory date, and with the wrong date no secure connection works. Go into your TV settings and turn on automatic date. The app warns you when it detects this.
A channel does not load and tells me to contact my provider
That notice appears when your playlist provider is not delivering the signal for that channel. It is not a problem with the app or your TV: the rest of the channels will keep working. Let whoever provides your playlist know.
Can I have several playlists?
Yes, up to ten. You add them from My playlists, and on the TV you can switch between them under Account.
What are the MAC and the Device Key?
They are your TV's identity. The MAC identifies it and the Device Key proves the device is yours, so treat it like a password: do not share it or post it. Both appear in the app, under Account › My device.
I changed TV. What do I do?
The new device will have its own MAC and Device Key. Write to us at mdgroupdeveloper@gmail.com with both MACs and we will move the time you had left to the new device, at no extra charge.
What data do you keep about me?
Your TV's identity, its platform, the app version, when it last connected and whether it is playing. We do not store what you watch: no titles, no channels, no history. The playlists you add are stored encrypted. It is all detailed in the privacy policy.
How do I delete my data?
Remove your playlists from My playlists and write to us at mdgroupdeveloper@gmail.com with your device MAC to erase the whole record.
